Candle Care + Wick Trimming

Each Prima Bella candle arrives with a candle care card and lighting instructions packaged inside with the vessel and warning label at the bottom of the vessel. Candles are a great accessory to create a relaxing atmosphere.

First Burn: Trim your wicks to be about ¼” in length before burning.
We recommend using a wick trimmer since it creates a nice clean cut that maintains the integrity of the wicks.

Make sure the melt pool reaches all sides of the candle before extinguishing the initial burn otherwise tunneling can occur.

Subsequent burns: You will want to trim the wicks to ¼” for every burn. We recommend only trimming wicks on cooled candles, to prevent debris from falling into hot wax.

Always: Burn your candles on an even, heat safe surface, away from drafts, and out of reach of pets and children. Once the flames are extinguished make sure the wicks are upright and centered.

Do not leave a burning candle unattended.

Never extinguish candles with water.

What are Scent Notes?

A candle has three types of notes, a top note, a middle note, and a base note.  A top note is the first scent you ‘experience’ when the candle first burns or when you smell it when it is unlit.

Then, the middle notes, which can also be called heart notes, are the scent results after the top note has faded a little.  This scent that you experience consists of the middle notes of the candle fragrance.

Finally, you then have the base note, which are the scents that reveal itself as the candle is lit and burning at a full melt pool (top layer is melted).  It can take up to an hour or so for this to occur.  So what is the true and actual scent of the candle?  That would be the mix of the middle notes and base notes.

Can I repurpose my candle vessel?

YES! Please see instructions below:

  • Place your vessel in the freezer (The wax will harden and shrink, making it easy to remove).
  • Remove the vessel after a few hours and remove the wax
  • If there is still any candle wax left in the vessel, try using a plastic spoon to scrape it off.
  • Clean the vessel and just like that you can start using the vessel for something else.

Do you offer international shipping?

Not at this time.
